8x8, a provider of cloud-based unified communications and contact center solutions, was awarded a patent related to its voice routing technologies.
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued U.S. Patent number 9,203,652 entitled "Systems, Methods, Devices and Arrangements for Cost-Effective Routing." The patent relates to a variety of methods, systems, devices, and arrangements for assessing and/or controlling call routing for IP communications. According to one such method, endpoint devices are used to monitor and/or assess call quality. The assessment is sent to a centralized server arrangement and call routing is controlled from there.
Since its establishment, 8x8 has been awarded 113 U.S. patents covering a variety of voice and video communications, signaling, processing, and storage technologies.
