Salesforce.com Debuts Salesforce1 CRM Platform

Salesforce.com has released Salesforce1, a social, mobile and cloud customer platform aimed at developers, independent software vendors (ISVs), end users, administrators and customers moving to the social, mobile and connected cloud.

With 10 times more APIs and services than the company previously offered, developers can now build apps that create personalized experiences by connecting smartphones or wearable smart devices to customer information and can be built on Salesforce1 in a fraction of the time compared to legacy platforms.

According to the company’s research, by 2020 there will be more than 50 billion connected things, from smartphones and wearable smart devices to jet engines and cars. The new offering reaches what the company calls the Internet of Customers---where every company can connect every app, employee, partner, product and device with their customer using social, mobile and cloud.

Salesforce1 enables ISVs to build, market and sell next generation apps on the largest enterprise marketplace with more than two million installs. The company’s ISV customers such as Evernote and Kenandy are already building mobile-ready apps on the platform and bringing Salesforce1 to market.

Included in the offering is the new Visualforce1 solution which allows administrators to combine fields, objects and other services into pages, components and apps that run within Salesforce1, making it simple to build and distribute apps through a single mobile platform.

With the new Salesforce1 Communities component, Heroku1 and ExactTarget Fuel, companies have a customer platform to connect with their customers. Companies can now build and deploy communities to connect customers, partners and products with the new Salesforce1 Communities. The new ExactTarget Fuel Heroku1 feature enables companies to build on Heroku powered by Salesforce CRM to deliver next-generation, customer-centric apps. ExactTarget Fuel also enables companies to offer their customers 1:1 engagements at scale through custom automated marketing campaigns.

The Salesforce1 Customer Platform is now generally available and included with all user licenses of Salesforce CRM and the Salesforce Platform. The Salesforce1 Mobile App is available for download at the Apple app store and Google Play, and the Salesforce1 Admin App can also be downloaded at the Apple app store and Google Play.
