Customer Service Offers More Remote Jobs

Customer service ranked third this year on FlexJobs' 7th annual list of the Top 100 Companies to Watch for Remote Jobs in 2020, behind healthcare and computer/IT. Other jobs that made the top five include education/job training, and sales.

FlexJobs defines a remote job as professional-level employment that allows the worker to work from home either entirely or part of the time. Overall, the number of people telecommuting in the U.S. has increased 159 percent since 2005.

Sales and customer service remain strong prospects for remote jobs, with virtual assistants, in particular, seeing higher demand. While a wide variety of jobs can be done from home, some of the most popular remote job titles include accountant, customer service representative, nurse, project manager, recruiter, teacher, web developer, and writer, the research found
