Derrick Ricca
Senior Sales Manager
Greenleaf Hospitality

Derrick Ricca has worked in hospitality for the past 20+ years. His passion is people and bringing smiles to their faces. By identifying early on that guests and customers love a little extra tlc, he has grown his business and network through more "being nice" and less cold calling. His success is attributed to having a great work culture where you treat your co-workers like they are also your customers. Derrick was Meetings Michigan Magazine Supplier of the Year in 2011 and the recipient of the 2014 STAR Award for Community Leadership from The Kalamazoo Gazette. He writes a blog specifically focusing on area customer service employees doing some really great things. His stories and message are designed to make you think, provide motivation, and provide a chuckle or two. "To be in customer service for 20 years, be a dad to two sets of twins, and still want to be around people makes him a really interesting case study" -Jeff Bither Chrysler Corporation.  Derrick uses stories about playing hide and go seek in hearses (while at work) and putting every plant in the hotel in a co-workers office, to compliment his metrics on service, and providing tools to ultimately use a little creativity and TLC to create an enduring work culture.
